What is the P.O.W.E.R. Online Network?
The individual letters in the word P.O.W.E.R. stand for Prayer, Outreach, Worship, Evangelism and Recovery. This website was developed in a effort to help individuals to know and to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, as we believe he is the source of all truth. Knowledge is power and the more you know about who God is and where your place is in His plan, the better your chances of developing a lasting relationship with him. Once you experience the joy, peace, love and assurance that comes from a personal relationship with God, you will wonder why you waited so long to know him.
What is online ministry and what is it all about?
Online ministry is just another method of reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The World Wide Web opens up the world in ways never possible before. Instant messengers make it possible to chat with people from all over the world regardless of their nationality, language, or time zone. There are many facets of online ministry, which may include one on one chat counseling, Christian chat rooms, conferences, prayer rooms, and streaming audio and video. Just as with choosing a church to congregate in, you must use discretion when choosing an online ministry, so I will advise you to be wary.
Is there anything that we can do to help online ministries?
Yes! Prayer is the best support for any type of ministry including online ministries. You can also help by attending online services in chat rooms and conferences. I use a scribe in my online services, which is a person that has a computer bible and is able to copy and paste scriptures on the screen while I preach or teach. Most online ministries are independant so funds may be limited. Please use extreme caution when asked to support a ministry financially. Pastors must be able to provide documentation, such as a certificate of ordination, or a license from a denomination. A ministry should be tax exempt or registered as a non-profit organization, unless such registration would limit the ministry's ability to freely preach in the name of Jesus.
How can I help the P.O.W.E.R. Online Network?
We are currently in need of financial support to help cover the cost of intenet service and 2 web sites. We also want to do an internet radio broadcast through the P.O.W.E.R. Domain as well as live video streaming. We would also like to have a bookstore to sell Christ related merchandise as well as bibles and study guides. This will take funding which would have to be on a regular monthly basis. Right now we are in the process of writing up a yearly budget with a proposed gross annual amount of funding needed to keep all of the elements of P.O.W.E.R.'s vision in place. We need a handicap accesseible van and building materials to renovate properties. We also need people to help. Volunteers are welcome! This is a lot of work for a handful of people.
